A Weekend In Venice
November 2018.
After weeks of heavy rain and storms, my family and I packed our waterproofs and headed for a weekend in Venice prepared to be wading through knee deep water. Thankfully the waterproofs stayed at the bottom of bags until the very last day. The purpose of our trip, not that you ever need an excuse to visit Venice, was to visit the Architecture Biennale where my brother was exhibiting some work.
We rented an air b&b in the heart of Venice and spent the weekend exploring and catching up. Apart from the Biennale, which I highly recommend visiting if you align date wise, we didn’t visit many ‘sights’. The majority of the weekend was just spent wandering aimlessly down all the beautiful streets, sipping on coffee and window shopping. I LOVE Italian food but have to say I was a little disappointed in the food scene, with the majority of places catering for tourists with excessive pricing. We did however, find two little gems that were full of locals:
We also visited Burano which while beautiful with it’s colourful houses, was rammed with tourists so would personally avoid if visiting again or purely stop by for a quick walk around.
Finishing off with an excessive amount of photos x
